How to carve this sugar skull stencil
- Download the PDF in the size that matches your pumpkin and check the 5 cm scale bar.
- Cut a lid or a back opening, scoop out the pulp and thin the front wall to about 1 inch.
- Tape the stencil flat and poke along every line about 3 mm apart.
- Cut the smallest openings first with a detail saw, then the larger shapes; keep every thin skin strand.
- Put an LED light inside and clean up any edges that block the glow.
This design had 38 white areas that would have fallen out when carved. We connected them with 31 skin bridges, and the download re-checks the bridges for the pumpkin size you pick. Some skin strands are thin at small sizes, so print Medium or Large if you can.
